Basalt Dental Implants

Rivers Dentistry offers dental implant treatment for patients throughout Basalt and the Roaring Fork Valley. Whether you are missing a single tooth or need a complete arch restoration, Dr. Connor Rivers, DMD provides comprehensive implant solutions at our Carbondale office just 15 minutes from Basalt via Highway 82.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as artificial tooth roots. Once integrated with the bone — a process called osseointegration — they provide a stable, permanent foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture. The result looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth. Unlike removable dentures, implants do not slip, require adhesives, or rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Implant Solutions Available to Basalt Patients

Rivers Dentistry provides Basalt patients with access to the full range of implant treatments, from single-tooth replacement to full-arch restoration.

Single-Tooth Implants

A single implant replaces one missing tooth without altering the healthy teeth on either side — an advantage over traditional bridges, which require grinding down adjacent teeth. Dr. Rivers plans each single-tooth implant with digital imaging to ensure precise placement and a natural-looking result.

Implant-Supported Dentures

For patients missing most or all of their teeth, implant-supported dentures provide a stable, fixed alternative to traditional removable dentures. They eliminate the shifting and discomfort associated with conventional dentures while preserving jawbone structure over time.

Full-Mouth Implants

Patients with extensive tooth loss can often have all upper or lower teeth replaced with a full-mouth implant restoration supported by a small number of strategically placed implants. Dr. Rivers evaluates bone density and overall oral health to determine the right approach for each patient.

Bone Grafting

Some patients require bone grafting before implant placement if bone volume has been lost following tooth loss. Dr. Rivers performs this procedure in-house, eliminating the need for a separate specialist referral in most cases.

Implants Under Sedation

Implant placement is a surgical procedure, and for Basalt patients who prefer a deeper level of comfort, Rivers Dentistry offers the full range of sedation options — nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation. Patients undergoing more complex implant treatment, including bone grafting or full-arch restoration, frequently choose IV sedation to complete multiple steps in fewer visits. Dr. Rivers personally oversees every aspect of the sedation experience.

The Implant Process

Implant treatment begins with a thorough evaluation of your oral health, bone density, and bite. Dr. Rivers uses digital imaging to plan placement with precision before any surgical steps begin. After placement, a healing period allows the implant to fuse with the jawbone. Once integration is confirmed, the final crown, bridge, or denture is attached. Dr. Rivers handles the full process — consultation through final restoration — at our Carbondale office, without the need to coordinate between multiple providers for most cases.
